JSHS invites high school students to report on the results of their original research investigations in STEM and compete for scholarships and recognition at university-held regional symposia. Students in grades 9-12 enrolled in public, private, or home schools are eligible to participate in their local Regional Symposium. See Rules of Competition for eligibility details. There is no cost to register for or participate in a regional JSHS event. If you are asked to pay a fee to register, please contact us at admin@www.jshs.org.

All Texas high schools are eligible to participate in the Texas Regional JSHS, with the exception of schools located in the Trans-Pecos region or west of I-27, US-87, or I-20. Students in these school systems should participate in the Southwest Regional JSHS. Texas students who are unsure which region to participate in should reach out to the Texas JSHS for guidance.

Information and dates for 2026-27 regional events will be posted in the fall of 2026.
