New Jersey Southern

JSHS invites high school students to report on the results of their original research investigations in STEM and compete for scholarships and recognition at university-held regional symposia. Students in grades 9-12 enrolled in public, private, or home schools are eligible to participate in their local Regional Symposium. See Rules of Competition for eligibility details. There is no cost to register for or participate in a regional JSHS event. If you are asked to pay a fee to register, please contact us at admin@www.jshs.org.

New Jersey high schools located within Mercer, Monmouth, Ocean, Burlington, Camden, Gloucester, Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland, and Salem counties are eligible to participate in the New Jersey Southern JSHS. Students attending school systems located in other New Jersey counties should participate in the New Jersey Northern regional JSHS.

The 2025 JSHS competition cycle has ended. Information and dates for 2026 regional events will be posted in the fall of 2025.
